Gill Nets

Gill Nets: Gill nets are one of the most popular forms of fishing nets worldwide. Gill nets are made from very fine soft netting and usually have floats on the top and leads on the bottom. The net forms a wall of netting and usually have floats on the top and leads on the bottom. The net forms a wall of netting and as a fish tries to swim through the netting, it becomes trapped behind the gills and is later harvested. Individual gill nets are designed to catch only one size of fish and do not catch a range of sizes. Gill nets can be stationary or moving, floating at the surface, or sinking to the bottom.
